Description:
Equips the trainee with basic knowledge and skills to accurately and objectively carry out routine meteorological and related observations expected of Middle Level Meteorological Technicians. The trainee will be able to demonstrate the requisite meteorological observational competencies: • An understanding of the basic knowledge concerning physical principles and atmospheric interactions, methods of measurement and data analysis, basic description of weather systems, and description of the general circulation of the atmosphere and climate variations. • Ability to observe and monitor the atmosphere and interpret commonly used meteorological diagrams and products. Participants will be able to apply their skills in areas such as Meteorology, Defence Forces, Agriculture, Aviation industry, Hydrology, Disaster Management Industry, University Technicians etc. Course Duration: The course is designed to last 24 months
Targeted Audience:
Eligible participants will be expected to have the following qualifications; (i) a Credit in O-Level/KCSE Mean Grade C with credits in English, Mathematics and Physics or Physical sciences (ii)WMO Class IV in Meteorology (iii) An equivalent qualification from a recognized Training Institution.
