Description:
Regional course for forecasters, covering the training on satellite data in combination with other data used in the operational forecast environment. South-East Europe Meteorological training course SEEMET-2024 is hosted by Federal Hydrometeorological Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo and supported by EUMETSAT, EUMETCAL and ECMWF. It is the ninth in the series of courses aiming to regularly train operational staff of the South-East European Meteorological and Hydrological Services. The course will be a basic satellite course. The lectures and exercises will focus on applications of satellite data and products with a special emphasis on the applications of MTG data. Additionally, ECMWF products available as Open Charts will be introduced. The course will consist of a 4.5-day classroom workshop in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The course will be composed of lectures and practical exercises.
Targeted Audience:
Operational forecasters, in particular junior forecasters.
