The Workshop will focus on addressing climate change and assessing the impact of climate change-related extreme weather events. It covers key areas including skill development for disastrous weather forecasting, numerical weather prediction and its applications, and the application of emerging technologies such as cloud computing and AI in meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as the dissemination of disaster information. Meanwhile, the Workshop will also serve as a platform to exchange valuable experience and successful practice with regard to climate change adaptation, aiming to help developing countries strengthen their capacity for climate change adaptation. Applicants are requested to submit application documents to CMATC/WMO RTC-BJ at training@intcmatc.com no later than 20 September 2024. The required application documents are: 1) A completed application form (Please e-mail training@intcmatc.com to request an application form); 2) A Permanent Representative (PR) endorsement letter*; 3) A copy of your passport that should be valid for more than six months from the beginning of the Workshop.
Targeted Audience:
The Workshop is open to officials, experts, and technical staff who are working in climate change adaptation, disaster prevention and mitigation and other related fields at NMHS as well as equivalent institutions in developing countries.
