- The WMO Satellite Training Course on MTG Implementation is a short course that is organized by the WMO Education and Training Office and Space Systems and Utilization Division (SSU), in collaboration with Ecole Africaine de la Météorologie et de l'Aviation Civile (EAMAC) and with the kind support of the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT). The course will take place in Niamey, in the Republic of Niger. The in-person course is organized to build the capacity of forecasters in the French Speaking Countries in the WMO Regional Association I in the MTG Satellite Implementation. The course will allow the participants to familiarize themselves with all the stages of EUMETSAT satellite deployments from the first generation to the third generation, as well as to be skilful in the MTG data acquisition, processing and visualization, application and interpretation. This is to prepare the forecasters and their organizations for the upcoming PUMA software operation.
