Start Date:

Region:

Description:
The maritime industry operates in one of the most dynamic and challenging environments on Earth. Marine meteorology—the study and application of atmospheric and oceanic conditions over the sea—is critical for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of maritime operations. From shipping and offshore oil and gas to fisheries and port management, accurate weather and ocean forecasts support decision-making and risk management. As global maritime activities continue to expand, the demand for specialized meteorological services tailored to the needs of marine operations has grown significantly. This includes forecasts for wind, waves, currents, visibility, and severe weather phenomena such as tropical cyclones. The integration of modern technologies like satellite remote sensing, numerical weather prediction models, and real-time data analytics has transformed how marine meteorological services are delivered. This training course aims to provide professionals in maritime industries with foundational and practical knowledge of marine meteorology. It will equip participants with the tools to interpret forecasts, assess weather-related risks, and apply meteorological data in operational contexts to enhance safety, reduce costs, and comply with international regulation.
