EUMETSAT, in partnership with the South African Weather Service’s (SAWS) Regional Training Centre (RTC), invites applications for the upcoming Satellite Applications Face-to-Face Course, dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of operational meteorologists across Africa.
This English-language training course is designed to optimize the use of data from meteorological satellites and improve the accuracy of weather forecasts. It offers a unique opportunity for African forecasters to build their expertise in satellite meteorology, with a focus on real-world applications.
Eligible participants who have applied will be nominated by their Permanent Representatives (PRs) with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
We look forward to welcoming a new group of skilled meteorologists dedicated to improving forecasting capabilities across Africa
Targeted Audience:
While preference is given to meteorologists within the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the course is open to all meteorologists from African countries. Individuals who have successfully completed and been certified in a recent online satellite applications course hosted by EUMETSAT and African training partners will be considered as well as candidates with strong English language skills.
