The Digital Earth Africa Applications Showcase webinar series, supported by the GEO Knowledge Hub, is designed to highlight the data and tools developed by Digital Earth Africa.
In this webinar of the series, the Digital Earth Africa Capacity Building team will demonstrate how users, specialists, and researchers can effectively leverage these resources for cross cutting applications (multiple areas).
The webinar is open and will be held online on 19 June 2025 at 14:00 CET.
Targeted Audience:
This webinar is intended for specialists, researchers, EO practitioners, and youth interested in developing EO-based applications in Africa. It is particularly relevant for those seeking to utilize Digital Earth Africa’s data, tools, and services to support environmental monitoring, decision-making, and sustainable development across the continent.
Youth community, including young scientists and early-career specialists, are especially encouraged to attend and learn more about the impactful work being carried out by Digital Earth Africa.
Expected Outcomes:
By participating in this webinar, attendees will gain practical knowledge on how to use Digital Earth Africa’s applications, data, and tools for cross cutting applications.
Participants will learn how to access the Digital Earth Africa computational environment, work with available Jupyter Notebooks, and carry out their own analyses using Python, the Open Data Cube, and other open-source technologies. This session aims to empower participants to develop and implement EO-based solutions.
