Description:
International Training Course on the Application of Early Warning Platform and Products of World Meteorological Centre (Beijing) will be organized jointly by CMA Training Centre (Guangdong) and CMA ICTC) (WMO RTC-Beijing) in Guangzhou, China from 27 October to 5 November, 2025.
1. Course Objective
The Course aims to provide knowledge in a range of forecast products offered by World Meteorological Centre Beijing (WMC-Beijing) and enhance the trainees' skills in applying the products such as global deterministic numerical weather prediction (NWP), global ensemble NWP, and global numerical long-range prediction products to deliver better forecasts.
The Course will include seminars and workshops regarding the preparation and utilization of WMC early warning platform and products, as well as the technical characteristics of the operational systems and the products.
2. Participants
The Course is open to officials, experts, and technical staff from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) as well as equivalent institutions. Please note the following detailed requirements for applicants:
1)Participants: officials, experts, and technical staff
2)Health: fit for intensive training and field trips
3)Age: Under 50 years old
4)Capacity: 40 participants
3. Course Organization
The specific training courses, delivered in English, will be given by experts from CMA and its affiliated institutions or corporations. It will involve diverse training contents including lectures, hands-on practice, on-site teaching, cultural tour, and participants' forum. Participants who complete all the required activities will receive a certificate of completion.
Participants are expected to:
1)Fully engage in the in-person sessions, including a country-specific presentation on their knowledge of the course content;
2)Write a summary report of no less than 800 words, reflecting on the key outcomes of this course and offering insightful suggestions.
