This advanced-level course focuses on strengthening the technical capacity of hydrological and climate professionals in West Asia to design, implement, and operate Hydrological Status and Outlook Systems (HydroSOS). The training builds on foundational knowledge to explore advanced techniques and methodologies in sub-seasonal to seasonal (S2S) hydrological forecasting. Participants will examine the operational, scientific, and technical aspects of forecasting systems, including forecast model integration, data assimilation, validation procedures, and uncertainty communication. Emphasis will be placed on addressing regional challenges and supporting the co-production of actionable hydrological information for decision-making. This course supports the objectives of international collaboration between research and operational communities.
