Description: The Information Communication and Instrumentation Training Centre (ICITC) of India Meteorological Department, a component of the WMO RTC in India, is offering a refresher training programme to the departmental / extra departmental personnel working as scientist / meteorological technicians/operators. This will be a five days short-term training course starting from 17.11.2025, which will be helpful to the professionals to improve their skills as well as refresh the subject. The schedule of the training programme will be sent to the participants well in advance. Participation in this training programme is online only. The subjects addressed are broadly "Upper Air Instruments", including upper measurements of upper air pressure, temperature, wind and humidity, methods of upper wind observations, radiosonde, radiotheodolite, radars, computation of meteor reports, principles of measurement of upper air temperature, pressure and humidity by meteorograph, radiosonde, principles of measuring winds by radar and radio theodolites, GPS radiosonde, GPS receiver, radars, lidars, wind profilers, satellite based profiles, their uses and significance along with trouble shooting and calibration techniques.
