This course will focus on using Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) products for monitoring warm season frontal precipitation. Topics of the course include the typical challenges forecasters need to deal with forecasting frontal precipitation. Particular emphasis will be given to enhancing the preparedness of the participants to use satellite soundings to identify temperature and moisture structures within fronts.
An essential part of the course is to work on case studies, to help refresh your skills using the satellite and other products when working in weather forecasting.
