Start Date:
June 18, 2026
Country:
Argentina
Region:
Americas
Description:
Within the framework of the ENANDES+ project, it is essential to have objective tools to measure the quality of daily weather forecasts. To this end, this training will present various methodologies useful for identifying the most accurate models, whether for the Andean region or any other region of the world. These tools, defined according to the nature of the variables to be analyzed (continuous or discrete), will allow for measuring the quality of forecasts and their evolution over time, as well as comparing different forecasting models. Furthermore, recent developments in weather forecast verification using artificial intelligence (AI) will be discussed.
