Start Date:
June 17, 2026
End Date:
June 17, 2026
Description:
Join Abigail Waring on 17th June for an insightful webinar on Land Surface Temperature (LST) and how it is retrieved from satellite observations. An Earth Observation and Climate Scientist specialising in satellite remote sensing and land surface temperature (LST), she is based at the National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) and the University of Leicester. This webinar will focus on Land Surface Temperature (LST): what it is, how it is retrieved from satellite observations, and why it matters. You will gain a clear understanding of LST as an Essential Climate Variable (ECV), its applications in environmental monitoring and climate research, and the methods used to validate and ensure the quality of satellite-derived data. Speaker: Abigail Waring, University of Leicester and National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO)
